What kind of drinks will be available enroute at stop points

Postby annwsk » Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:56 am

I am wondering if there will be a electrolyte replacement drinks, will there be cola? (My favorite riding sugar/caffeine boost)- also, my husband is a tea drinker- will there be regular (not herbal) tea bags?

ann,
Stops along the way vary. The ODS stops are usually well stocked. I believe Gleukos is the drink we have had the last few years at these and lunch. Sometimes bottles/cans of other drinks but not usually a set list. May have soda, kerns nectar, cold teas, etc. Quite variable but usually plenty to choose from. The ODS stops will also have plenty to eat!

The water stops are sometimes just that, water. Can't recall for sure if some of those have gleukos also.

Unless you are very picky or have food allergies you should never be short of food/drink on CO!! The stops are close together and well equiped.

Breakfast/dinner always have a selection of teas to brew.

Don't forget those Ben & Jerry's "energy drinks"!! Yummmmmmmmmmmm!!!
Of course these are the best at the end of a long hard day in the saddle when you get back to camp. This is the only place to get this drink unless you go to the store of the creator.

Plan on water at the water stops. Energy drink or energy drink mix to add to water at most rest stops. Chocolate milk at the finish. Various drinks at lunch (soda, V8, water, sports drink etc). Extra drinks available as needed from the Sags.

There is also lemonade stands along the route in most cases, beer and wine at the finish and anything else from a variety of other vendors.
