Camping Chair

Postby salrider » Wed Feb 17, 2010 5:09 pm

Are there any suggestions for a lightweight, but comfortable camping chair? I didn't have a chair the last time and I was jealous of those who did.

I've brought a nice one from REI and a cheap one I got from GI Joes years ago. Before that I tried one of those folding sit on the ground things, but didn't care for it. Last year I tried a small stool with a backrest, again from REI. Worked fine as long as the ground was level and I didn't sit in it too long. Most comfortable was the nice chair with arms from REI, but also the biggest and weighed the most. I don't think I've found the solution yet, but I'm sure others have better ideas.

I use basic camp chair with arms. Works well but does weigh a little. Luckily I have been able to stay under the limit even with the chair.

I have a small one; the seat is canvas and shaped in a triangle; no back with 3 legs; easy to pack, then I also have a small version of the bigger canvas type chair; it folds up small too.
