Grant's Getaways--Oregon Scenic Bikeways

Postby David-E » Mon Apr 19, 2010 10:21 am

I found this listing for one of Grant's Getaways I thought was interesting. The web site is: http://oregonstateparks.wordpress.com/2 ... -bikeways/
This site has a lot of information about the Scenic Bikeways and it also a listing for the 2010 Cycle Oregon Week long ride. It shows elevation maps for several of the rides. The milage varies on several days so I don't know how accurate they are. To find the Cycle Oregon ride, go to the link to RIDE OREGON RIDE and click the right hand link to find Cycle Oregon Ride.

What a great resource!
I hadn't seen this before, but it includes 33 rides in central and eastern Oregon, with maps, elevations, and commentary. I hope to do a loaded trip across the state in June and this is a terrific planning aid.
Bottom line for Cycle Oregon: the math makes the haul out of the big ditch on day 2 an AVERAGE of 3.6%.
May as well bring your fixed gears! :D

Here is my best guess from the maps. Not sure about some of it but I think it is close.
