Route Teaser?

Postby Leedo » Thu Jan 14, 2010 10:05 am

Is there going to be a vague graphic to tease the route like there was last year? It was fun to try to search it out. }B^)

It caused quite a stir and speculation. The only clue we have right now is "mind of state" or "mined of state", depending on how you heard the clue in Grants Pass.

Ride on!

Maybe the graphic on the home page is the teaser: old fashioned Western
lettering, looking for a posse, warning of group travelling from town to town on a spree. That combined with the "state of mined" makes me think that we are headed to the mostly untouched southeast sector as some thought when the "state of mined" was initially mentioned...

We were told @ the Volunteer Dinner last week that so may teasers were given last year that the surprise was ruined. Other than the hints in Medford last year, no additional hints have been given. We'll all find out on the 4th.

I don't want any teasers... I want to find out the same way I did in 2006 when I did my first CO. I showed up at the party not having a clue what I was in for. The suprise will bring at least a bit of that feeling again.

I'm looking forward to the Thursday's Event. Depending on the route it will be CO 2010 vs. the 25th Anniv. of the Marine Corp. Marathon in Washington D.C. in October. The cost will be about the same but the adventure will be totally different. Monuments vs. Mountains/Deserts, John Quincy Adams vs. John Deere, the Potomac R. vs. the Owyhee R., SuziQt. vs. NO SuziQT? No foot fx's or not sighing up in time this year, alright?

Hope to see many of you on Thursday to help me make-up my mind !

How devoted are you to marathoning? I personally hate running, and love biking and beer, so to me it's no contest: Cycle Oregon!

Thanks for the input. I've done over 30 marathons and lucky enough to enjoy 4 C.O.'s. The best thing is that beer goes VERY well with both.

Go to http://www.oregonlive.com and search on Cycle Oregon 2010 and look for an article by Scott Nelson on Feb 4, 2010 at 5:16pm PT.

hint the title of the article is "Cycle Oregon 2010 route unveiled -- sort of"

Um, excuse me but, what does this route have to do with "Mined or Mind of State?"

"Mind of State" is the opposite of "State of Mind."

This may seem weird but bear with me a minute...

1. WA is on the opposite side of the state from CA where we went last year.
2. 2009 was in SW OR while this year is in the NE corner.
3. Day 1 was the big climb last yeat while Day 7 is the big climb for 2010.

Make sense? }B^)

"Mind of State" is the opposite of "State of Mind."

4. This years ride is counterclockwise. Last year was clockwise.
