If any of you are lurking just before leaving. Interstate 5 is closed just south of Salem as of 2:15 PM. Grass fire.

Check your alternate routes!

Thanks for the heads up! And if you are from further North:

Weekend sporting events
Drivers should plan ahead and allow extra time to reach their destination this weekend due to several events in Seattle that will draw tens of thousands of people.

Friday, Sept. 9: Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals at Safeco Field at 7:10 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 10:
University of Washington Huskies vs. Hawaii, 12:30 p.m.
Seattle Sounders FC vs. Real Salt Lake at CenturyLink Field at 1 p.m.

Best source for Oregon highway information (O-DOT):

http://www.tripcheck.org

Update from that site as of 5:32pm on Friday, 9/9-
I-5, 4 miles South of Intersection with ORE22, in Salem MP 250. Estimated delay of 2 hours or greater.
A grass fire in the area has Interstate 5 reduced to one lane south bound. Please drive with caution and expect delays.
