The more time you spend on the hills the more friendly people you will meet there.

Everyone is going to do great!!!

You will notice the hills but not the elevation. If are feeling low on oxygen breath out as much as you can 3 times in a row really hard and then you will get a nice deep breath it will perk you up.

Jackson is right, this is a ride not a race, if you enjoy the journey you maybe ready for the finish each day, but will have had a great day along the way.

Just a few suggestions. A pillow that can be crunched into yur bag helps a lot to get a good nights sleep. Shower caps are great for keeping the seat dry at night. Bing lots of light layers of clothes and then use the gear drops at the rest stops.

I had a compact with an 11/28 but have since put on an 11/32. Much easier on the knees but then I am an older gentleman. On our tandem we have a triple with an 11/36 and we needed all of it on Rattlesanke grade.
