After almost two hours of trying, I haven't managed to get to a page where I've given payment information, so I'm not even to the step where I might expect an email confirmation. Meanwhile, I see that tent & porter is already sold out.

We checked our credit card online and its shows a payment pending. However, no email confirmation yet.

This process is disgusting.
I was there on the dot of noon and 2 hrs later it is still spinning on the jersey page.
I have tried different machines, different browsers and re-entered several times.

I got caught immediately with the PreRace registration plus email nonsense.

Pox on you, Cycle Oregon! You picked a bunch of amateurs for this process.

Call me a disgusted former Cycle Oregon fan,
Bill Slavin

after nearly 2 hours elapsed, haven't received confirmation email. However, PreRace.com website shows I am registered.

I have always valued Cycle Oregon for its superb organization. That's what makes this registration disaster so surprising, so frustrating, and so utterly needless. I have been trying now for two hours and 8 minutes. To no avail.

Yeah, well I was on (probably as well as everyone else and their mothers) @ noon, entered the first page of information... and

An error has occurred
Unfortunately, once a registration has been added to your cart, it cannot be altered. However, you can remove it from your cart and start again.

(nothing in my cart, server is just hosed)

and this continued until, well now. Now it's allowing me to get through the next few pages... though each page is spinning with:

Processing
We're experiencing a heavy volume of traffic. Your registration is being processed.

oh... and now the cream de la cream:

The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Did anyone bother to do any load testing on this registration service? One more year of missing this ride due to a botched registration system.

This is just BS.

I had to log into my cc card to see - it shows the registration fees "pending" so I am hoping we are "IN"

Still no confirmation email. Sigh........

This is the 26th year for this event and probably not the first time the organizers used online registration. I attempted to register at 3 pm est and have been trying ever since without success. I called the cycle Oregon HQ and prerace. No surprise no one answered the phone. After these reg glitches I would hide too. This would have been my first ride but who needs the stress of registering. These issues should have been worked out before registration opened. It's not like no one had any knowledge. I guess
My response email from the organizers will be try again next year. Really why??

Is it already sold out? Or just tent/porter sold out?

I believe this is only the 2nd year they've used online registration exclusively. While last year's was flawed, this version seems even worse. Back in the good-ol-days you could register at the kickoff event (wow, imagine that!) but I'm guessing the organizers felt this gave an unfair(?) advantage to those attending the function to get registered.

Well, for what it's worth I will no longer be attending kickoff parties or wasting any more of my time on future CO registration hair balls.

How or where are you seeing that? Last year it sold out in ~20 minutes so I wouldn't be surprised that it is sold out with those who were miraculously able to make it through the process.
