You Know You're Ready for CO...

Postby straightspoke » Mon Aug 26, 2013 8:54 pm

You know you're ready for CO when...you dream of packing your duffle bag and you have callus over your "sit bones"!

You know you're ready for CO when...you'd rather be in John Day in September than in Paris!

You know you're ready for CO when...the arrival of your Parking Pass in the mail makes your whole week go right!

Help me out with this, clever people.

You know you're ready for CO when the store has no more supplies of bubble juice.

You put your parking pass on the dashboard of your car to be sure you do not loose it.

I know I'm ready when a 25 mile ride feels like a warm up.

When you have a accumulated a sufficient pile of dollar bills for porter (aka sherpa) donations (and extra funds for the beer/wine garden or Ben & Jerry's or Nossa Familia Coffee or Pizza - take your pick!)

When you spend hours detailing and polishing your CO bike, knowing it will be covered in dust at the first rest stop!!!

You know you are ready for CO when someone steps up and says they would love to drive your van:

We'll pay for the gas AND you get pizza, beer and ice cream money!!

Seriously, we are still looking for someone to drive our 1984 Westfalia around the route. Can you use a clutch and manual shift? Drive our van and haul your gear. And we'll give you $100 to make the deal even sweeter.

Mid-sixties CO couple from Spokane on their 8th ride. I leave immediately after for a month's work in Japan's disaster area. We love riding in -- usually in the last 10% of riders -- to our lovely comfortable van that we bought in Europe in 1984.

Can you help? Thanks for considering!!

The van is loaded with toys, music and supplies for the ride. Racks attached and signs of help and encouragements.
