Training & Strava

Is anyone using Strava to track their training rides? Here's my Strava profile: http://app.strava.com/athletes/1627535

I live in Oakland and I am doing 3500-6000' climbing with each ride. I only got in 100 miles this week due to prep for a week trip next week & a party.

I'm now thinking when I return, my training is going to look like this:

* Bicycling (100-200 mpw):
- Tu/Th 25 mi/2500' climbing
- Sat/Sun 50-70 mi/5000+' climbing

* Running: M-F 4.5 mi (flat)
* Climbing: MWF

* Swimming: 4-5x/week 1500-2000 yds

* Weights: 2x/week

YMMV - I am 44, single, no kids & cats for pets (less overhead than dogs!).

Thoughts?

Really curious to see other people's training schedules.

If you are hitting 100-200 Miles per week you will be more than ready assuming you are pushing along not toodling!

If you are pushing at all you will be passing plenty of folks.

My training is way off this year. Accident last year and travel for work.

Several of us us Strava.

You'll do great with that kind of training. Here's what I've been doing if you want to compare:

Awesome, thanks for the Strava links - I'd love to see more CO folks on Strava -- maybe we could start a Cycle Oregon club?

I found you on Strava - I hope others will join - it's really fun seeing the different kinds of training and geographies of other riders!

Alas, being in Sacramento, I can only do hills on weekends. I commute 30 mpd so have a real good base but only get in some hill climbing every other weekend probably. I am on Strava as well so will look for you. I am 59 years old so running is only occasional and a bit scary. Always waiting for something to break or at least strain.

Originally from Stockton! It is a little flat there. I have had the same issue in the Willamette. Climbing is mental. Note that many great climbers are also great time trialers. Find a good, long, flat run you can make with few stops. Crank all the way, no coasting!

Worked for me last summer training for the Death Ride!
