2012 Alpine Century

Hate to step in on Brian C as I love to read his synopsis of the rides!

The Alpine is August 11th if you can't make the Covered Bridge or want more hills.

Its a figure 8 route that starts in the intersection known as Alpine a little south of Corvallis and rolling climbs up Bellfountain Road to Decker Road. Up and over Decker to Highway 34. Usually early enough to avoid traffic. Up and over Alsea summit to .... Alsee!

Then its out Lobster Valley way to loop back to Higway 34. The section to 34 has a good climb and roads with great scenery and very little traffic.

Back up 34, the worst traffic section, back to Alsea for a climb by Alsea Falls and a nice drop back to Alpine.

It is put on by the local folks and they are always friendly. Well worth the trip from anywhere in the valley!
