Weekend ride approaching

Well,

Like always, the weekend ride board is pretty quiet... but it is getting SO close! My daughter and I are very excited!

OK. Now I'm getting stoked. Less than two weeks to go. I did the Bridge of the Gods ride last weekend (yes, on the recumbent) and I'm not too sore so I think that means I will be able to enjoy the other amenities in town, and as I remember you owe me a couple of beers 8-)

I'm getting really excited too. My husband, son and some friends have all signed up for the weekend ride - I'm hoping this will get them excited to do the week ride next year! I'm enjoying watching their excitement increase as the weekend gets closer :D

On Friday I ran over a large sharp rock and wrecked a tire.
On the weekend I searched high and low and *finally* found the tires I like in my size (650c).
On Monday I dropped a wrench on my foot while changing the tires.
On Tuesday I was limping around.
Today, I'm almost better.
Tomorrow I will finally get back on my bike.

Good thing I got that all out of the way and can just enjoy the weekend on my nice shiny new tires ;-)

Well got the daughters bike all dialed in. I am going to be bringing the trike along - so that will be a fun time I think. :) It will be my first real ride of any distance on it so that should be good.

John, you need a "wrench" to change a bike tire ??

I'm going to go down earlier on Friday (tomorrow!) and sample the riding in the Monmouth area. Any suggestions for good rides in the <50mi range?

It takes raw talent to drop a wrench on your foot when you are looking for a tire jack.
